Cebia review

Cebia advertises European and North American vehicle history, including damage, mileage, service information and archived advertisements. Its purchase process shows an overview of available checks after entering the VIN. A country's presence in its coverage list does not guarantee a complete history for every car.

What to inspect in the preview

Cebia's published process presents the available checks after VIN entry. Read that overview before payment and compare it with the risk you want to investigate. If your main concern is an earlier country of registration, ask which dated records address that period rather than relying on a broad coverage claim.

Damage, mileage and archived advertisements

Cebia lists damage records, mileage history, advertisements, service records and theft checks among its categories. An old advertisement can give context to mileage or visible repairs. Compare dates carefully: several entries close together may concern the same episode, and an advertised mileage is not automatically a certified reading.

Price, repeat checks and access

Consult the relevant language and market version for today's total price and any repeat-check offer. Cebia describes a limited viewing period for a purchased report, so save the permitted copy promptly. Check the payment confirmation and access instructions rather than assuming the report will remain accessible indefinitely.

Coverage across a vehicle's life

A history report is most useful when its records cover the periods important to your decision. Separate the car's life into countries and owners, then compare the entries with registration papers and maintenance invoices. A gap after importation requires evidence from the current market, even if the earlier timeline is detailed.

Turning findings into purchase checks

Request an explanation and supporting invoices for every important discrepancy. If a damage record is present, give it to the inspector before the viewing. Verify present condition, keys, identity markings and documentation separately; the existence of a report does not establish that repairs were performed correctly.

Limits to keep in mind

  • Available checks and populated records differ by vehicle
  • Report viewing has an access period
  • Local pricing and repeat-check offers can differ
