Details to have ready
- VIN
- Ukrainian registration certificate
- Registration number and OTK report reference where applicable
Check documents through MIA services
The Main Service Centre describes official checks for registration documents and vehicle information by VIN. Use the service linked from the authority’s site and confirm its current identification and payment requirements. Match the result to the original documents.
Verify OTK evidence where applicable
The authority provides a separate verification route for mandatory technical-control protocols using identifiers such as the plate, VIN or protocol reference. Check an offered protocol through that service; its validity is different from a complete maintenance or collision history.
Check identity for an imported used car
MIA guidance describes expert identification examination for first registration of a used vehicle imported from abroad. Confirm the current process with the service centre and retain the foreign title, registration and repair evidence before paying for an import.
Limits to keep in mind
- Service availability and requirements must be confirmed directly with MIA.
- A valid document or OTK result does not establish complete accident history.
Commercial reports and an independent inspection
Compare a provider’s coverage with the periods and countries missing from your documents. A commercial report may add evidence, but it does not replace an official check where one is needed or an inspection of the actual vehicle. Read provider reviews before choosing.
