Details to have ready
- Danish registration number or VIN / stelnummer
- Registration certificate
- Synsrapporter and service invoices
Find the official inspection information
Færdselsstyrelsen’s vehicle-inspection page links to inspection-report information and directs users to Motorregister for the inspection deadline. Its guidance says the registration number or chassis number can be used to check the deadline.
Read what the synsrapport covers
The authority explains that an inspection report records vehicle identity, the inspection performed, where and when it took place, and its result. Examine reported defects and follow-up actions rather than treating the existence of a report as a clean-history certificate.
Compare local and imported records
Ask for the original registration certificate and dated maintenance invoices. If the car was imported, obtain the earlier country’s inspection and registration trail. An up-to-date Danish inspection does not account for every repair carried out before import.
Limits to keep in mind
- Inspection deadlines and test results answer different questions from accident or finance history.
- Some official guidance carries an update notice; confirm current procedures directly.
Commercial reports and an independent inspection
Compare a provider’s coverage with the periods and countries missing from your documents. A commercial report may add evidence, but it does not replace an official check where one is needed or an inspection of the actual vehicle. Read provider reviews before choosing.
